WHAT IS PROJECT MOVE

This app is a companion to MOVE hotspots (www.habithotspots.com)- an exciting interactive workplace wellness technology installation that you can get for your entire office - or even just for your team.

MOVE hotspots help your organization or team impact one simple but powerful wellness goal - break sedentary work habits that are harmful to your health, and take healthy breaks through the course of a busy day at work.

MOVE gives you a reason to get up and move more throughout your workday - and reinforces this behavior over time - leading to beneficial habit formation.

To deploy Project MOVE - You’ll need to go to http://www.habithotspots.com and purchase a set of MOVE hotspots - smart indoor location sensors. Once you have installed these hotspots at your workplace, email all users a link to download this companion Project MOVE app, and an access code to register. Alternately users can download and register the MOVE app all by just visiting a MOVE hotspot and following the printed instructions on it.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Project MOVE is ideal for small businesses and teams that are looking for an easy to deploy worksite wellness installation that practically runs itself and doesn’t require elaborate roll-out announcements, or handing out fitness trackers or buying expensive treadmill desks for your employees/ team.

WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH PROJECT MOVE

Transform your workplace into an interactive wellness installation
--------------------------------------

Make your environment come alive with our MOVE hotspots - turning communal areas such as water coolers, copy rooms, cafeteria and rec rooms into "activity checkpoints" that credit you for periodically getting up and visiting them.

For example - you could deploy a MOVE hotspot in the stairwells of your office to nudge and reward users to take the stairs.

Or consider placing our MOVE hotspot in the hallway and motivate users to take the longer route to their desks after they take a lunch break.

The possibilities for deploying Project MOVE in fun, creative ways are only limited by your imagination!

Deploy customized wellness messaging
--------------------------------------
Whether it is motivational reminders or funny taunts to get users to move, or informative and educational content, or mini-challenges to pique their curiosity, appeal to their sense of purpose or pride – MOVE has it all! You can use our pre-existing content, or even add your own by writing to us.

Run custom wellness contests
--------------------------------------
MOVE is a great platform for running wellness challenges. You can sponsor prizes for your team or others in your organization to motivate them to move more, pick and announce winners, validate winnings - all through Project MOVE.

ON THE IMPORTANCE OF BREAKING SEDENTARY WORK HABITS

Research continues to show that excessive sitting may contribute to chronic disease, worsen your quality of life and even shorten your lifespan. Over a busy stressful workday, we also take very few breaks. Yet when we think of health and wellness - we tend to equate it to counting steps or hitting the gym or getting our morning or evening cardio.

But what about the little things? More and more research is pointing to the importance of just moving that extra bit more throughout the day.

What’s even more interesting is that when researchers studied communities where some of the longest-lived people in the world can be found - they found three things in common: Create an environment that encourages physical activity, avoid overeating, and cultivate a sense of purpose.

Project MOVE is inspired by this notion – and wants to help you transform your living environment in ways that subtly nudge and motivate you into light physical activity, and taking more frequent healthy breaks.
